Hillfoot sponsors Katie Duckenfield on her bodybuilding quest for perfection.
Given that we’re a company specialising in a product whose inherent quality is strength, the opportunity to sponsor one of our colleagues in the competitive arena of bodybuilding seemed like a natural fit.
At Hillfoot we place a huge emphasis on our family approach to work. We’re all here to support each other, and develop together as a business. We also take an active interest in the wider aspects of company life, and the ambitions of our colleagues.
Katie joined Hillfoot in 2020 and currently plays a key role in our Sales Support Team. Her story is fascinating, and one which resonates with our own sense of ambition and determination to be the best.
Katie is actually very new to the sport where she competes in the Ladies Athletic Category as part of the Physical Culture Association (PCA). She entered her first competition back in May 2021 in Coventry where, despite a fraught series of mishaps (makeup artist being rushed to hospital and the wrong music played for her individual routine), she came third and picked up a bronze.
As a consequence, she was invited to take part in the British Finals on October 15-16 at the Telford International Centre. The event is the very pinnacle of the industry with 700 finalists competing over two days.
“I cannot wait for this event. I’ve been working tirelessly to obtain the desired look for October. I’m just 5 weeks from the show and hungry, to say the very least. I’m also sick of the 2 hours a day cardio sessions! After this I’m appearing in one more event this year “Mr and Miss United Kingdom” in Gateshead, an IBFA open competition.
I’ve definitely fallen in love with this sport. Although it’s certainly not for the faint-hearted it has given me the drive and determination to succeed. It educates you to be disciplined and patient, skills which are transferable to normal life.”

Hillfoot’s sponsorship has helped support Katie with acquiring her all-important performing outfit which is a key requirement for competing at this level.
