To achieve profitable sustained volume growth through the development of strategic new business, prioritising opportunities for long term trading.
To convert development targets to a position of sustained transactional trading or conversation to contractual business
Support with addressing performance issues with incumbent customer base, specifically where opportunities arise.
Sales growth through ‘sales development’ aligned with the businesses development strategy, included but not limited to development via sector, supply chain, geographical region and product specific.
Generate sustained growth of £800K SV/year from new business opportunities, through either existing customer or new lead.
Responsibility for maintaining the key data within the Sales Development Platform.
Identify and participate in trade shows and exhibitions, aligned with the business development strategy.
Use proactive outboard cold and warm calling to identify and evaluate potential new customers and/or new business opportunities.
Action inbound traffic from new customers to identify and evaluate potential new business opportunities.
Build key relationships to ensure loyalty, return business and sustained trading.
Seek to maximise all opportunities and apply added value where possible, with a strong focus on overall customer service and efficiency, internally and externally.
Apply the ‘Future One’ sales approach to define customer requirements and build tailored product and service packages to suit customers’ needs.
Aim to develop trading customer to repeat and contractual business.
Identify, formulate, negotiate and convert new business tenders (up to £100K SV), including call offs, unaided, seeking only sign off as per policy.
Provide excellent professional customer service, including, promptly, accurately quotations, order book management and proactive customer communication.
Actively engage with customers via video calls.
Carry out regular customer visits. Overnight stays will also be expected to ensure effective sales coverage.
Maintain an accurate working understanding and knowledge base of customers’ business to aid commercial decision making, including the maintenance of customer records.
Ensure successful transition of accounts to the relevant area of the sales team once sustained trading and/or contractual agreements have been established.
Ensure accounts/new business trade within current and / or available credit limits.
Partake in actively marketing the Hillfoot brand, along with our product and service, through dialogue and communication with new and existing customers through agreed marketing activities.
Customer Contact / Service: Ensure that service to the customer is of the highest standard and quality at all times. To communicate customer requirements and/or schedules to internal staff in a timely and executable manner to promote optimum cost efficiency. To develop relationships and a pro-active approach with internal/external customers, understanding and striving to meet their requirements.
Teamwork: To build, manage and maintain strong inter-departmental relationships and communication within the organisation and work in partnership with other team members. Works effectively as ‘part of the Company team’, communicates positively at all levels both internally and externally. Works effectively as part of a departments team, recognises areas where support is required and offers assistance. Provide cover and assistance within your associated team during times of absence and high work volumes. To carry out any additional duties requested by your Line Manager, under clear direction and support.
Efficiency / Accuracy / Achievement / Quality: Ensure processed work is checked thoroughly before actioning. To achieve the targets and job standards set out by your Line Manager. Ensure that all role activities are managed in an efficient, timely and customer focused manner.
Personal Excellence: To be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work. Takes an active role in personal development and frequently reviews individual objectives and attends training sessions as required.
