Premium quality medium carbon Cr-Ni-Mo alloy steel. It is available in the vacuum re-melted version (AMS6414) and non- vacuum re-melted (AMS6415). Whilst both are near identical chemically, the superior fatigue and transversal properties of AMS6414 make it a popular choice for the manufacture of high performance crankshafts. This alloy is capable of being heat treated to >250KSI UTS.
