Recycling

A hard-wearing steel specification and dedicated stock agreement gave our customer the performance and availability needed for a new overseas recycling project.

Moving into the recycling sector created a new opportunity for our customer - and a demanding materials challenge.

Hillfoot helped specify 655M13, providing the toughness and wear resistance needed for cutting and shredding equipment operating under continuous wear.

But performance was only part of the challenge. Components would need replacing throughout the equipment’s life and, with the project overseas, delays in sourcing replacement steel could mean costly downtime.

Hillfoot created a 12-month supply agreement, holding sawn material in agreed sizes, lengths and grades at our Sheffield site, with stock replenished as it was used.

The customer benefited from:

  • Fast access to replacement steel

  • Reduced risk of costly downtime

  • Consistent material performance

  • Greater certainty over supply and costs

The outcome

By combining the right steel specification with guaranteed stock availability, Hillfoot helped the customer enter a new overseas market with greater confidence.

The right steel. Ready when it was needed.
