Health, safety and environmental update from Murray Metals Group

23rd August 2016

The latest updates from Murray Metals Group’s programme of continuous improvements to our health & safety and environmental procedures.

Preparations for the changes to the Personal Protective Equipment regulations

The current legislation relating to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is more than 20 years old and with the introduction of the new PPE regulations imminent, Murray Metals have taken the opportunity to review our own Personal Protective Equipment.

The new regulations are sure to bring in changes that will affect industry as a whole and at Murray Metals we are determined to ensure that our provision of PPE meets all the requirements.

Development of Emergency Response Teams

Emergency planning and preparation is vital if we are to ensure that we can deal with any foreseen emergency situation, and while it is not always possible to foresee all emergency situations, we can try to anticipate and where necessary plan a course of action.

At Murray Metals we have begun to take the next step in emergency planning and control with the development of site emergency response teams.

Based on an index of possible emergency situations, specifically named team members will be trained in how to coordinate emergency action across the site and where necessary across the group.
