Hillfoot bring you an update on the May 2019 surcharges for carbon and alloy steels.

There is a small fall in the surcharges for carbon and alloy steels for May 2019, after a drop in the Scrap surcharge.

Scrap has reached £219 per tonne, down from £229 in April, a movement that means surcharges on carbon grades are now at their lowest level since March 2018.

There is little movement in alloys, but the change in Scrap means surcharges on most alloy steel grades have fallen slightly for May.
