Internal Sales

As part of ongoing growth, and the retirement of several long serving members of our Sales team, we are excited to be recruiting for 2 Internal Sales position to join our Sales Team.

As one of the UK’s largest steel stockholders, we are recognised as experts by our diverse customer base in a wide range of industries including Automotive, Mining, Off-Highway, Power Generation, Construction, Defence and Industrial engineering sectors.

For a defined set of existing and potential new customer accounts, the suitable candidate will:

  • Create, develop and maintain relationship
  • Drive repeat trading 
  • Service focus
  • Drive and contribute to the achievement of the sales team budget

The main tasks of the role will include:

  • Building key relationships to ensure loyalty, return business and sustained trading
  • Delivering a high level of customer service at all times ensuring our ‘Best in Class’ position
  • Evaluating customer enquiries via telephone
  • Producing quotations based on agreed commercial policies 
  • Following up quotations in pursuit of orders and gaining commercial feedback, and responding accordingly
  • Aiming to develop trading customers and repeat business
  • Proactive customer telephone calls to allocated customer base to create opportunities and orders. 
  • Ensuring maintenance of individual customer plans, development platforms and CRM files where necessary
  • Overcoming objection to the achievement of individual and shared KPI’s & sales targets
  • Growing profitability, control costs and maximise efficiency for the suite of allocated transactional accounts. 

Candidates must have the following experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience of working in a customer centric environment with a focus on delivering high levels of customer service 
  • Experience of engaging with customers, either face-to-face or telephone
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment.
